Since its opening in 1986, the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the University of Prince Edward Island has surpassed many expectations and quickly grown to an institution respected around the world for its expertise. To meet growing demands for its renowned educational, research, and service programs, AVC has embarked on a $32 million, 110,000-square-foot expansion and renovation project.
AVC?s expansion will enable the College to play an even greater role in protecting public health, and food safety, by providing the space and resources to further develop educational, research, and service programs. From a new Research Complex which will house the Atlantic Centre for Comparative Biomedical Research and other AVC centres of expertise to an improved Student Learning Commons, the expansion will assist the College in contributing to the advancement of veterinary sciences, as well as to the health of Canadians and the economy.
AVC has received $18 million from the Government of Canada towards its expansion and renovation project. As well, a total of $6.5 million has been secured from other sources. Over the next few years, AVC will work to fundraise $7.5 million from corporations, foundations, and friends to support the capital expansion and development of the College through the UPEI Building a Legacy?AVC Capital Campaign.
Your support and commitment will help AVC achieve its vision of growth.
