New AVC Research Centre Opened

The launch of the new Centre for Veterinary Epidemiological Research (CVER) took place recently.??

Established in March 2007, CVER conducts strategic research for food-producing industries and organizations and is one of the leading centres for animal health epidemiological (studying health and disease in populations of animals or humans) research in the world.?It brings together a large number of individuals involved with population-based research at UPEI and affiliated organizations.?

CVER is also home to an active graduate program in epidemiology and health management and hosts a large number of Canadian and international graduate students.

The new centre collaborates with, and supports, researchers working in animal welfare, public health, companion animal health, human health and social sciences.

Dr. Ian Dohoo, Department of Health Management, elaborated on the work of the Centre and introduced the new website.
