A new graduate-level textbook, Methods in Epidemiologic Research, was launched at UPEI recently. The book deals with epidemiology—the study of disease within a population—from a human perspective. This is the third epidemiology textbook co-authored by Dr. Ian Dohoo, Professor Emeritus of Epidemiology, AVC; Dr. Henrik Stryhn, Associate Professor of Biostatistics, AVC; and Dr. Wayne Martin, Professor Emeritus of Epidemiology, University of Guelph. Veterinary Epidemiologic Research was published in 2003 and a revised second edition in 2009. At the event, Dr. Dohoo, who retired from AVC in August, was honoured as an award-winning epidemiologist, teacher, and researcher.
