AVC faculty recognized at UPEI's Faculty Recognition Night

Donors Kevin and Candida Quinn, and Louise Hessian (second left), presented AVC faculty member Dr. LeeAnn Pack (second right),with a Hessian Award of Excellence in Teaching at UPEI’s Faculty Recognition Night on May 7. Earlier that day, the first annual Presidential Recognition Awards of Merit were presented to faculty members and librarians. Among the recipients were AVC faculty members Dr. Gary Conboy, Pathology and Microbiology; Dr. Jeff Davidson, Health Management; Dr. Greg Keefe, Health Management; Dr. Tarek Saleh, Biomedical Sciences; and Dr. Pack. Congratulations to all the award winners!

AVC to hosts Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue course

AVC will host a Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue (TLAER™) course from July 5-7, 2012--the first time the program has been offered in Canada. Using trained demonstration animals, course instructors Dr. Tomas Gimenez and Dr. Rebecca Gimenez will teach participants about the latest “heavy animal rescue” equipment and techniques (as shown above).
