AVC News and Events

AVC will present a community workshop entitled “Living with Wildlife” on May 22, from 7-9:30 p.m. in Room 287N, The McCain Foundation Learning Commons at AVC. A team of experts will provide information and answer questions about the “do’s and don’ts” of dealing with wild animals. The workshop is sponsored by AVC Friends & Family. Interested people who cannot attend the workshop are invited to watch it live at www.upei.ca/friendsandfamily/ on the evening of the workshop.

AVC will host a Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue (TLAER™) course from July 5-7, 2012--the first time the program has been offered in Canada. Using trained demonstration animals, course instructors Dr. Tomas Gimenez and Dr. Rebecca Gimenez will teach participants about the latest “heavy animal rescue” equipment and techniques (as shown above). For information about registration, please click here, or contact Dr. Erica Koch, AVC Ambulatory Equine Service, at (902) 393-6104 or ekoch@upei.ca. The deadline for registration is June 1.
