Long-time AVC clients Arthur and Sandra Irving make generous donation to UPEI

Companion animals and their owners will benefit from a leadership gift made by Arthur Irving, Chairman of Irving Oil Company, and Sandra Irving, to the University of Prince Edward Island in support of the Atlantic Veterinary College’s expansion.

In recognition of this generous gift from Mr. and Mrs. Irving, AVC’s Community Practice Clinic will be named the Sandra and Arthur Irving Community Care Clinic, announced UPEI President Wade MacLauchlan at AVC's Veterinary Teaching Hospital on Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Irving are well acquainted with AVC’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital; for many years, the hospital’s expert clinicians and staff have provided care for their beloved dogs. During a tour of the hospital on May 31, they met many of the people who have looked after their pets, including veterinary cardiologist Dr. Etienne Côté (shown here with Mr. and Mrs. Irving).

AVC’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital is the only full-service veterinary referral hospital in the Atlantic provinces. More than 6,000 animals are cared for each year at the hospital, and thousands more receive care off-site.
